Benicia's express bus now ends at Concord BART instead of Walnut Creek

Completed, per SolTrans.

Source: SolTrans, Systemwide Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA): System Redesign · checked Oct 12, 2026 · Coverage updated Oct 12, 2026

Location not yet established

Since SolTrans' bus redesign took effect August 2, Benicia's hourly express bus no longer goes to Walnut Creek BART. The route, renamed from the Yellow Line to Route 70, keeps all its Benicia stops and now ends at the North Concord and Concord BART stations. SolTrans said in its 2025 draft plan that Vallejo and Benicia residents make about three times as many trips to the Concord area as to Walnut Creek, and that ending in Concord avoids congested stretches of I-680. No SolanoExpress route serves Walnut Creek on SolTrans' current maps. On September 1, SolTrans adjusted Route 70's schedule to add travel time to Concord BART. Benicia's local Routes 15 and 17 did not change.
